The Garden
Chemical-free growing — geranium, lemongrass, ravintsara. Thick mulching and companion planting of species acclimatised to the Mascarenes.
Our story & our philosophy
Founded in 2020 in Réunion before settling in Mauritius, Aromanou carries the passion of Mariesolle, a certified aromatologist, and of Nicolas.
Gentle extraction with the copper still, preserving the plant’s soul and aromatic power.
100% pure, whole oils, with no chemical additives or alteration. A chemotype sheet for every batch.
A responsible approach, rooted in Indian Ocean biodiversity and respect for harvesters.
Our conviction
Elevating the plant with passion
Aromanou was born from a conviction: restoring plants to their role in our everyday balance, through authentic extraction craftsmanship and a generous sharing of knowledge.
One site, three organs
The garden feeds the still, the still is cooled by rainwater, the rain irrigates the garden. Nothing leaves the loop.
Chemical-free growing — geranium, lemongrass, ravintsara. Thick mulching and companion planting of species acclimatised to the Mascarenes.
Roof water flows down the gutters into tanks, then irrigates through oyas — buried porous clay jars. Zero waste in the face of drought.
Roofs → Tanks → Oyas → Roots

The critical resource
Rain fills the tanks. The tanks fill the oyas and also cool the still’s coil.
A buried terracotta jar. Water migrates slowly to the roots, as the plant needs it.
With climate uncertainty (El Niño episodes), installing the tanks costs far less than replanting a lost garden.
The moment
It’s already paid for. It belongs to us and is waiting in Réunion. The absolute priority: funding its journey — sea freight, customs, delivery — to Mapou.
Aromanou has been registered since 2022, but real activity only started in February 2026. Banks classify us as a start-up with no track record. A conventional loan is blocked — a private partner isn’t.
Since 2021, the African Continental Free Trade Area has opened a market of 1.3 billion consumers and roughly $3.4 trillion in combined GDP. Mauritius has ratified the agreement and already trades on preferential terms with 23 African countries. The document detailing AFCFTA opportunities for Aromanou can be shared privately on request.
Use of funds
€20,000
Two components, two horizons. €15,000 fund the equipment — a durable asset of the company. €5,000 cover a short-term cash bridge, until distillation opens the tour-operator channel. Line-by-line detail of the equipment component, opposite.
A timing squeeze, not a structural problem: we currently hold around €40,000 in stock (shop-price value) ready to sell, and distillation — once the still is operating — opens the tour-operator channel that speeds up that stock’s turnover. This component covers the site’s fixed costs while that stock converts into cash. Paid in a single transfer at signing along with the rest of the loan, and repaid with it, on the same schedule.
How to join us
We are seeking a loan of €20,000, including €5,000 of short-term cash. No share of Aromanou Ltd is on offer: you are repaid on a written schedule, you carry none of the operating risk, and you know from day one what you get back and when.
€20,000, paid in a single transfer at signing: €15,000 for equipment and €5,000 of cash to cover the months when the still is paid for but not yet producing. Aromanou Ltd’s share capital is untouched.
3% / yearFixed rate, on the outstanding balanceSix months with no repayments at all, running from the first distillation — neither capital nor interest: interest for that period is simply added to the capital. Then thirty monthly instalments, or ten quarterly ones if you prefer them spaced out. The loan is denominated in euros at a fixed exchange rate: a falling rupee costs you nothing.
30 monthsAfter six months with no repaymentsWe are not asking you to bet on the project’s success alone. We are pledging a personal asset: garages in mainland France, free of any loan, with a locally estimated value of €20,000. Should the business be unable to repay you, they would be sold or transferred to you.
≈ €20,000Garages in mainland France, pledged personallyAromanou has one year of real trading and no positive balance sheet yet. Setting a valuation today would mean inventing a figure neither you nor we could defend, and asking you to carry shareholder risk to fund a piece of production equipment. The loan funds the same final stretch, with a maturity, a rate and a security. We would rather owe you money than an explanation.
What protects you
This loan rests on trust, not paperwork. It still deserves a simple, written framework that everyone understands from the start.
No tranches, no invoices to produce: the €20,000 is paid in a single transfer at signing. In return, a written, dated and costed repayment schedule — and our garages in mainland France as a last resort.
This financing is a loan and nothing else. You do not become a shareholder, you do not vote on our decisions, and you never have to follow a later funding round to protect a position. You lend, you are repaid.
No accounting reports to pore over: you watch the project move forward month by month — the still arriving in Mapou, the first distillation, the first bottles. And our shop-workshop is open to you whenever you are in Mauritius.
Aromanou Ltd’s articles of association and share capital breakdown are provided on request, under a simple non-disclosure agreement. The MRA distillation licence will be issued once the surety bond is in place and the still has arrived on site — we will share it with you as soon as we have it. The commitment on the garages will be set out in writing, by notarial deed in France if you wish. Any loan agreement will be drafted by an independent Mauritian lawyer before signing — neither you nor we are committing to anything on the basis of this presentation alone.
Who are we ?
Twenty-six years of marriage, three children, and a project carried together for a long time: coming back to plant roots in Mauritius.
Mariesolle, a certified aromatologist, trained in Réunion (Aplamedom, Tisaneurs) to understand how plants are transformed. She validates every piece of advice given — never with a medical claim.
We have been welcoming visitors at our shop-workshop in the Domaine de Labourdonnais since February 2026.
